25. Workshop on Classroom Management 22 February, 2019 (2018-19)

One of the greatest challenges teachers face today in their profession is how to manage their classes which have a large number of students and lack of sufficient teaching learning aids. They often complain of misbehavior of the students in the classroom and lack of attentiveness and effort on their part. They consider it as a source of indiscipline and hindrance of effective teaching learning process in the class but they are not aware of the source of these problems. They need to know whether the source of the problem is the students or they themselves if they really want to have effective classrooms that cater to the need of the students. Effective classroom management requires teachers to have skills and clear ideas of what exactly is needed to create an effectiveness teaching and environment in the classroom.

Keeping this idea in mind Guru Nanak Public School conducted a workshop on ‘Capacity Building programme and classroom management’ which was earlier conducted by CBSE in Spring Dales, Kota and was attented by two of our teachers; Mr. Hemant Rajpal and Mrs Amrita Bagga. In this workshop with the help of power point presentation various topic such as classroom rules, procedures, routines, unique teaching style, seating plans, importance and factors of classroom management were discussed with the teachers. The session involved lots of group discussions on different cases shown in videos, case studies, questionnaires. According to teachers it was a fruitful workshop and they would like to be a part of such type of opportunities in future and apply them in their classroom.
